Hi I'm Helen, the woman behind WUUDY.

I started my career as an architect and left the profession 10 years ago to free up more of my time and energy for raising my young family. During nap times, and later school hours, I worked on my graphic art project, ‘City Icons’, which focuses on architecture and the city of Rotterdam (the Netherlands), where I live.

I've also volunteered on social projects, where I've run art and craft workshops in a women's refuge and after-school classes for primary school children new to the country.

Over time WUUDY evolved into a graphic art business working with clients ranging from local makers, health-care providers and housing corporations as well as selling printed artwork from my ‘City Icons’ across the city. I love to collaborate with others and strive to make work that helps people connect and communicate.

I love bold, colourful graphic imagery. And although my architectural experience has shifted my personal style towards minimalism, I'm also moved by busy imagery that is full of texture and pattern.

"Helen has worked on a few projects for me now including a design for my charity, a logo for my Etsy online shop and an eye-catching promotional poster for the back of some lorries for my charity.
I have been extremely happy with the communication from the start of each piece of work from Helen and have been impressed by her flexibility of thinking and ideas proffered around basic ideas I had. She has a real flair for design and colour schemes that work well for the situations needed. If I have wanted to tweak any colours or see how different wording has worked, Helen has been more than accommodating and willing to provide further options. I have liked the fact that various options are given to me but with her thoughts behind how each one may work.
I would be more than happy to continue to work on any design or graphic needs I may have moving forwards with Helen and cannot recommend her highly enough."

"We commissioned Helen to design a notecard featuring our university's landmark building, which is something we wanted to highlight in marketing. And we love it. She was very responsive and very patient as we collected and incorporated feedback from architects, branding, faculty, and agencies, etc. to finalize the design. We’re really happy with the end result (and proud to have a WUUDY piece associated with our university!) and it was a pleasure to work with Helen, whose customer service skills rival her artistic skills."

"Helen produced beautiful, custom designed artwork for us. Her professional but personal approach was outstanding and she responded quickly to all our queries and requests. Given that the pieces had to be mailed internationally Helen took initiative to ensure that they were complete and mailed to us in plenty of time to meet our deadline, and she ensured that they arrived in pristine condition. Helen gave expert advice on all aspects of the process, from initial design ideas right through to the framing and hanging of pieces. Her approach was client focused, creative, and perfectly delivered!"
